Accommodation and Homestay

The school arranges homestay accommodation for students. Living with a New Zealand family helps to improve English and real friendships are formed.

Many of our students return to New Zealand to visit their homestay families. All families are carefully selected and have undergone a police vetting procedure. Some families are large in size and some have just a host mother. Nearly all families have pets (usually a dog or cat). Families do not live in apartments but in detached houses with a garden. The International staff will give consideration to student preferences and requests where possible. All students will have their own fully furnished bedroom and share the other facilities with their host family.

We understand that our international students need a safe, nurturing enviornment with positive relationships to ensure they have an enjoyable experience here in New Zealand.

We have lovely host familes who enjoy having international students and care for them as one of the family. Our homestays usually live in close proximity to the school. Students may travel to school by walking, bus or car. Our International students have easy access to the International Office.

Our friendly staff are available to help in any way they can. The International staff will provide guidance and support ongoing throughout the year.

"I'm very happy with my host family. They interact with me like a real family. They help me when I am confused. I’d like to be a kind person like them." - Mina, Japan
