Sacred Heart College offers an exciting range of extra-curricular activities.
International students are encouraged to participate and get involved as it helps to develop social skills, provides opportunities for interaction and friendships and enables an authentic 'kiwi' experience. 

Sports
Many sports are available to students through various sports clubs for the duration of the year. The sports offered at school are seasonal and include;
cricket, futsal, tennis, touch rugby, volleyball, waka ama, badminton, canoe polo, football, hockey, netball, rugby
School Events: Athletics day, Cross country, Swimming sports, Mission Cup and TeToa Competition


Music
Multiple choirs and instrumental groups cater for students of all abilities and interests. Music groups include: barbershop, gospel singing, choir, orchestra, chamber music, jazz band, rock bands. Individual music lessons are available on request.
School & Regional Events: SHC Arts Festival, Big Sing Competition, NZ Chamber Music Schools Competition, Rock Quest, Barbershop Competition, Festival of the Bands, Hawke’s Bay School Jazz Night


Drama and Debating
Opportunities include bi-annual drama & music production alongside St Johns College (our brother school)
Individual speech and drama lessons available on request.
School Events: Arts Festival, O’Shea Shield, School Debating Team, Hawke’s Bay Debating


Culture
Our school is enriched by the strong influence of our Maori and Pacifica students.
Groups such as Kapa haka, and Pasifika and various choirs are available to internationals students.
School Events: Noho Marae visit, Fia Fia (celebration of Pacific culture with dance and song)
