Badminton – Terms 2 and 3
Summary: Over the Winter terms, we enter Badminton teams into the Hawkes Bay Secondary School competition. Teams will be made up of likeability usually with 4-6 per team and will play in the grades respective to the girl's ability.
Each year it is dependent on registration numbers as to how many teams are entered.
The Season starts on Thursday 18th May through to Thursday 14th August.
Logistics: Students are responsible for arranging their own transport to and from games.
Practices: Teams may practise on a Monday at Break 2 in the Gymnasium.
Games: Thursdays after school (4pm - 5.30pm) at various HB School gymnasiums.
Uniform: All girls are to wear their PE top and shorts, sport shoes and short white ankle socks. It is expected that all girls wear their school sports hoodie or school jacket and own black sports trackpants to and from games. For warmth, players can wear a white, maroon, or black under-layer underneath their playing top.
Equipment: Sport shoes and Badminton racquet if student has their own, otherwise, racquets can be borrowed from the Sports Department.
Sports Draw: All games details are available via the Hawke’s Bay Badminton website and we have a school sports draw with all game details which is updated weekly and will be available on our school sport Facebook page, school sport website and school sport app.
